Song #24: ‘Don’t Stop’

Don't Stop

Get thy groove on.

This week’s tune is a movin’ little bad boy, it’s got a great swing feel and, in righteous style, a tasty bass riff holding it together.

It has by far the most recorded tracks of any song I’ve put out yet, with 20 in total. Takes a bit of time to do that in a week, I say (especially when it’s Budget week – don’t ask).

But it was worth it.

I dig that at the same time as being a little funky it also has some soul, some feel, some emotion. So you can dance, yes, but also linger with thoughts of “walk in the night/fog dripping lights”, and soak in the stumbling sweet small hours vista.

This one’s a little older. I started writing it some time ago with just the initial riff, last year perhaps, but it had a different chorus then – a different angle, more brooding. I think this one is better; more in keeping with the vibe. (Which is, obviously, Mabo.)

So dig in!
