Holy. Sweet. Holies.
I mean, 26 songs, my friends. Twentymotherflippinsix! I mean, I just mean… I don’t know what I mean.
I was trying to explain it the other day, and the best I could do was that it was like how normal people might view a pie eating contest – a normal person could do one pie, maybe one and a half, but imagine stuffing your face with pie after pie after pie, with that clock ticking in the background, you can’t eat anymore, but you have to, you know you have to.
It’s kinda like that. Except I really love pies, so it’s both full on and an absolute joy.
Ok enough about pies (that was weird) (and awkward).
This week’s song is a lovely one about letting go of love, and while being hit for six, at least having the little light far off in the distance that says, “Come what may, there will be other days, there will be brighter days, there will be love in time.”
(Incidentally there’s a great song by Glen Hansard that goes “Love is gonna find you, just be ready.” Beautiful stuff.)
Also – the title – yes, it was just gonna be me and Nicole Kidman until that little walloper Ewan McGregor showed up with his version. Damn you, Luhrmann!
Ahem.
So sing along, for there will be a glorious day when all your tears are wiped away, and all your love will be repaid.
To the second half!
A glorious day… I like that. It sound good to my ex-Catholic soul.
Fine singing Lliam, of a beautiful song…and congratulations. 26 is one hell of an achievement, especially when the songs are of such quality. I smell an album.
CONGRATULATIONS ON REACHING THE HALF WAY MARK – a lesser person would have given up long before this. Keep up the good work. . . what an achievement this ongoing project is. Well done, Ian.
