It’s all sparsity this week.
You know, upfront, I’m not entirely sure a lot of folks will immediately dig into this one, it’s not an easy track. It has very little movement in it and it’s a tad challenging with the quietness and the sudden, but brief, loudness; the emotional brawling.
But at the same time, I find it beautiful. It definitely aches.
I was going to record a different song this week, but as I sat down to record it I started playing this very short part on piano, which stuck straight into me somehow, and this one just came out – so this is as current as it gets! Fresh tune.
It’s written from the perspective of someone unilke me, a view from a different part of a lifetime. Looking back.
See what you think. Maybe it’ll hit the right spot, maybe not.
P.S. I’d find a quiet space, or headphones – it gives more. Maybe it should be in a film. Ha – a sad film.
I actually think this is one of my favourites – very haunting, very raw. The silences and the pace add to it. Love it x
Sparsity? So now you’re composing words as well?
Fine song… and yes, it would be a VERY sad film.
Thanks peeps! And sparsity is totally a word – and much better than sparseness, I say. 😉
